2001 Spring Track

Girls Results

Season Highlights: The team was coached by Bryan Parks and assisted by Jim Schlentz (distances), Vince Tesi (throws), Tom Fox (jumps), Bill Cisko (hurdles). In their 2nd year of varsity, the team accomplished a large amount of firsts, highlighted by their 2nd place finish in the Central Jersey Group 1 championships, just 4 points behind Metuchen. Amy Kolasa became the girls first County Champion and 1st Freehold District Champion. Team highlights included finishing 7th in the Monmouth County Championships. Individual highlights included Central Jersey Champions Amy Kolasa (long jump) and Lianne Price (1600) as well as Central Jersey silver medalists Kelly Romisoukas (400 and long jump), Amy Kolasa (100), Lianne Price (3200), and the 4 x 400 meter relay team of Kathleen Malara, Rachel Candelora, Laura Patterson, Liz Brady. Placing at the State Championships were Amy Kolasa 4th in the long jump, Ashley Liberatore 6th in the 3200 and Lianne Price 6th in the 1600.

Post-Season Highlights: Amy Kolasa was named 1st team All County in the long jump by both the Shore Coaches Association as well as the Star Ledger. She was also named 2nd team All-Shore by the Asbury Park Press. Amy was also named All-Freehold District in the 100 and long jump. Lianne Price, Ashley Liberatore, Kelly Romisoukas, Liz Brady, Kathleen Malara, and Stacy Perry were all honorable mention All-Freehold District. Coach Parks was named Monmouth County Spring Track Coach of the year by the Star Ledger.

The girls moved up from 6th last year to 4th led by Amy Kolasa winning the girls first District championship. Amy won the long jump, was 2nd in the 100, 4th in the 200 and 5th in the javelin. Kelly Romisoukas was 3rd in the long jump and 5th in the 400 and Stacy Perry was 3rd in the shot put.

She was 3rd in the 100, 3rd in the 200 and then became the 1st outdoor Monmouth County champion for Colts Neck by winning the long jumpwith a jump of 16' 11.25" winning by 7 inches. freshmen Kelly Romisoukas qualified for the final of the 400 and finished 8th.
