Season Highlights: The team was coached by Bryan Parks and assisted by Jim Schlentz. The team finished with a dual meet record of 8 wins and 0 losses overall and 6 wins and 0 losses in the B North division of the Shore Conference, which they won. This was their 3rd division title in a row. Team highlights included finishing 12th in the State Meet of Champions, 3rd in the State Group III Championships, winning the Central Jersey Group III Championship, the 2nd place finish in the Monmouth County Champs, the 4th place finish in the Shore Conference Championships, and winning the Freehold District Championships. Individual highlights included Ashley Higginson's 3rd place finish in the State Group III championships, winning the Central Jersey Group III Champs, her 2nd at the Monmouth County Champs, her 4th place finish at the Shore Conference Champs and her 1st place at the Freehold District Champs; Kim Lang was 20th at the Group III State Champs, 4th in the CJ Group III Champs, and 7th at the Monmouth County Champs; Danielle Plenzo was 22nd at the Group III State Champs and 6th in Monmouth County. Rachel Grande and Jackie Austin were 17th and 24th, respectively, at the CJ Group III Champs.
Post-Season Highlights: Ashley Higginson was named 2nd team All-State, All-Groups. She was also named 1st team All-State Group III by the Star Ledger with Kim Lang and Danielle Plenzo 3rd team. Ashley was named 1st team All-Shore Conference by the Asbury Park Press and the Shore Coaches Association. Kim was named 2nd team and Danielle was named 3rd team. Ashley, Kim and Danielle were named 1st team All-Monmouth County by the Shore Coaches Association and 1st team All-Freehold District by the News Transcript. Rachel Grande and Jackie Austin were named honorable mention All-Freehold District.

Ashley Higginson went through the mile in 2nd place, came up Maintenance Hill in 3rd place and worked her way back to 2nd over the last mile. Danielle Plenzo was 91st at the first 400 and 33rd at 2 miles. She continued to move all the way up to 12th by the finish.

A big upset as the Lady Cougars beat Howell, ranked #10 in the State, by 7 points. It was the first time the cougars had more than one girl break 20:00 (we had 3) and the team average was a school record by over a minute. See all results at FRHS Champs results.

The Cougars win their first Central Jersey championship since 2000 when they were in Group I and also won the State Champs. They won by just 8 points over Hopewell Valley as they picked up most of it in the last 800 meters. Ashley Higginson became the lady cougars first Central Jersey Cross Country champion.
