Girls Results
Season Highlights: The
team was coached by Joe Lykes and assisted by Jim Schlentz. The team
finished with a dual meet record of 3 wins and 3 losses in the A North division
of the Shore Conference. Team highlightsThe team finished 10th in
the Central Jersey Group IV Champs and 5th in the Cougar Inv. Individual
highlightsEva Wimberley finished 15th in the Central Jersey Group IV Champs
and 3rd in the Freehold District Champs where Brielle Kohler and Arielle Weiner
were 10th and 11th.
Post-Season Highlights: Eva
Wimberley was named 1st team All-Freehold District by the News Transcript.
Arielle Weiner and Brielle Kohler were named honorable mention All-Freehold
District.

|
| It is a world of the individual against himself, it
is his aspirations challenging the capacity of his body. There
is no enemy but the straining of every muscle. It is not a
sport, it is a life of work and precision and sometimes it is
rewarded by a cheer or a press clipping. But when the press
clipping turns yellow, there will still be the memory of that time,
perhaps only a moment, when the crowd faded to nothing and the only
sound was breathing and the only feeling was the ache of endurance
and pushing, pushing until the body soared with the mind, and no one
else knew what it was to strive. |

Middletown and Freehold Twp stop "the streak."
"The streak" was 35 straight dual meet wins and 7 straight division
titles. Running a little undermanned and competing with teams fighting for
a division title the Cougars came up short. The first three Cougars did
set personal bests at Holmdel Park and the 4th was running Holmdel Park for the
1st time.
