Madelyn Noe-Schlentz (University of Rhode Island) - Madelyn joined SRH in the summer of 1996.  She has run all her personal bests as an SRH member.  She  became a masters runner on Nov 30th of 2000.  SRH highlights:  Qualifying for the 2004 Olympic Trials in the marathon in 2004.  Setting the American Masters Indoor records for the 1 mile (4:59.9) in 2001 and 3000 meters (9:58) in 2002 and the American Masters Outdoor record for 10,000 meters (34:58.54) in 2002.    Running 57:43 to finish 3rd in the 1999 Broad Street 10 mile and running 16:41 at the 2000 Penn Relays 5000 meters.  She has won NJ USATF titles in the 5k, 10 miles, and half marathon on the roads and 5k and 8k in cross country.  She married coach Jim Schlentz in July of 2001.

Sue Huelster (Penn State) - Sue was an All-American running the 800 leg on the distance medley at Penn State.  She joined SRH in the fall of 1997.  SRH highlights: She has hit personal bests in all the events above 1500.  She won the USATF-NJ 800 meter title and was 4th in the USATF-NJ 5k XC champs in 2002.  In 2003, she won the USATF-NJ championship in the 3000m steeplechase and was runner-up in the 5K XC Champs.  She also set a 5000 meter PB of 17:19 in the Penn Relays.

 

Sue Huelster

Personal bests: 800 meters 2:12 (1996), 1500 meters 4:31 (1996), 3000 meters 10:20 (2003), 5000 meters 17:19 (2003)

 

Jennifer Malavolta (East Stroudsburg) - Jennifer was a two time Division III  All-American at East Stroudsburg.  She joined SRH in late fall of 2001.  SRH highlights: She has run personal bests in the 5K, 8K, 5 mile and 10 mile.  She finished 2nd at the Cherry Blossom 10k (USATF-NJ Champs) as well as 4th at the Midland 15K Run and the Liberty Half Marathon in 2002.  In 2003, she was USATF-NJ champion in the 5 mile and runner-up in the 10k, 20k and half marathon.  She also set her marathon PB at Chicago.

Personal bests: 3000 meters 10:05 (1993), 8K 29:24 (2001), 10,000 meters 36:39 (1993), 10 miles  61:18 (2001), marathon 2:58:59 (2003)

 

Noel Whitall (College of New Jersey) - Noel was National Division III Champion in the 5000 meters and a 7 time All-American while in college.  She joined SRH in the fall of 2001. SRH highlights: In 2002, USATF-NJ champion in the 5000 meters, 3rd at Cherry Blossom 10k, 5th at Spring Lake 5 mile, and 5th in the USATF-NJ 5k cross country champs.  In 2003, she won the Spring Lake 5 mile, the USATF-NJ 5000m track title and was 4th in the Liberty Half Marathon.

Personal bests: 3000 meters 9:44, 5000 meters 16:52, 5 miles 29:49 (2002), 20k 1:18:37  (2003)  

   

Cathy Grote (College of New Jersey) - Cathy was an All-American in the indoor 5000 meters at the College of New Jersey in 1997.  She joined SRH in Sept of 1997. She took a hiatus from SRH in 2000 but rejoined in 2003.  SRH highlights:  Running 2:57:29 in her debut marathon at Las Vegas (1999), just missing qualifying for the Olympic Trials in her 2nd marathon 2:50:50 at Philadelphia on a hot day, and running 1:17:48 at the Las Vegas half marathon.  In 2003, she was 3rd in the prestigious Midland Run.

  Personal bests: 5000 meters 17:26 (1997), 10000 meters 35:46 (1997), 1/2 marathon 1:17:48 (2000), marathon 2:50:50 (1999).

 

Jessica Thomas (University of Virgina) - Jessica was State Group II XC and winter track Champion and runner-up in the State Meet of Champions in the 1600 meters in high school.  She joined SRH in late fall of 2003 after having trained with the team while in high school.  Her first race was in the NYC Armory.

Jodie D'Ariano (Stanford) - Jodie was a 3-time Kinney National XC qualifier and 2-time National Junior Champion in the 1500 meters in high school.  Recently named to the New Jersey High School All-Century Team.  She joined SRH in the fall of 1999.  SRH highlights: She qualified for the indoor nationals in the 1 mile (4:41), finishing 6th, and 3000m (9:21)  in 2001 and the 1500 (4:25) and the 3000 (9:26) in 2000.  She ran 2:48:32 to miss the qualifying standard for the 2004 Olympic Trials by just 32 seconds.  She won 2 triathlons and was 4th overall in the USA National age group championships in Missouri in her 1st year of triathlons (2000).  She had a baby boy, Ryan, in August of 2003.

Karen Walker (College of New Jersey) - Karen was an All-American in cross country at the College of New Jersey in 1999.  She joined SRH in the fall of 2003.  SRH highlights: Finishing 6th in the USATF-NJ XC 5K championships and 9th in the USATF-NJ 4 mile champs at Somerville.

Megan Phillips (Marist) - Megan joined SRH in Sept of 1999.  She has set all her personal bests in that time.  SRH highlights:  Winning the Spring Lake 5 in a personal best in her hometown (29:55), finishing 5th at Teterboro in the USATF-NJ 5k road championship and finishing 5th in the Liberty 1/2 marathon (The USATF Eastern Regional/NJ State Championship), all in 2000.  She finished as 2nd NJ runner in the NJ USATF 5k XC Champs (18:28) in 2001 and was 6th at the Presidents Cup 5K and ran her 1st serious marathon 3:07 in 2002.  She had a baby girl, Teagan, in June of 2003.

Christy DeFilippis (Maryland) - Christy was an All-State cross country runner in Maryland in high school.  She joined SRH in the fall of 1998.  SRH highlights:  Running 62:52 to finish 5th in the New Jersey 10 mile USATF Champs to help ACE win the team title, finishing 7th in the NJ USATF cross country champs in 1999, again helping the team to the team title.  She finished as 3rd NJ runner in the USATF-NJ 5k XC Champs (18:32) in 2001.  She ran her marathon PB in 2002.  She had a baby girl, Katelin, in September of 2003.

Uli Bromme (Rider) - Uli started running her junior year in high school.  At Rider, she was All-MAC conference in cross country and track.  She joined SRH in March of 2003.  SRH highlights: Finishing 4th in USATF-NJ 20k in first SRH race to help SRH win state title, setting a PB for both 5000 and 10000 meters at Penn Relays 2003.

2002

 

Christine Corey (James Madison) - Christine was All-County in high school.  She joined SRH in the fall of 1997 and took a two year break from 1999 to the summer of 2001.  SRH highlights:  She was the 4th place finisher for the ACE team that finished 3rd at the 1997 nationals.  She finished 4th at the 1998 Manasquan 5 mile (29:33).  After her comeback, she ran 3:15:21 at the Las Vegas Marathon and finished 8th at the USATF-NJ 5k XC Champs in 2002.

2000

 

 

Kelly Vanasse (Yale) - Kelly joined SRH in the fall of 1998.  SRH highlights: She has set all her current personal bests in the last two years.  Qualified for the indoor nationals in the 3000 meters (9:21) in 2000.  She  missed qualifying for the 2000 Olympic Trials in the 5000 meters by just 3 seconds, running 16:08.  She has finished 5th in the last two Penn Relays 5000 meters and won New Jersey USATF Championships for the 5 mile, 10 mile and half marathon on the roads as well as cross country (5k).

  Personal bests: 3000 meters 9:21 (2000), 5000 meters 16:08 (2000), 8k  27:34 (1999), 10 mile 57:59 (1999), marathon 2:46:53 (2000).   

 

Jennifer Livingston (Wagner) - Jennifer was Long Island 1500 meter champion in high school and Northeast Conference 3000 meter champion in college. She joined SRH in the fall of 1997 and took a two year break from 1999 to the fall of 2001.  SRH highlights: She was the 5th place finisher for the ACE team that finished 3rd at the 1997 xc nationals.  She finished 4th in NJ USATF cross country champs and ran 17:48 for 15th in the Eastern XC Champs in Boston in 1998.

Tara Ricciuto (Penn State) - Tara was 1st team All-State in high school.  She ran for West Virginia University before transferring to Penn State.  She joined SRH in July of 1998.  SRH highlights: Winning the Spring Lake 5 mile (over 8000 finishers) and running 60:05 to finish 5th at the Broad Street 10 mile in 1999.  She was also a scoring member of both the NJ USATF cross country champion ACE team in 1998 and the Philadelphia Distance Run team champions in 1998.  She is recovering from knee surgery and will be ready to race soon.
